After months of ‘leaks,’ we saw the launch of the Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus last Tuesday. The ‘S’ in the smartphones stands for special edition. The company has stated that the new smartphones offer several upgrades over their predecessors Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus.

The major feature on this latest Moto smartphone is in the camera department. The Moto G5S comes with a 16MP primary rear sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and a 5MP selfie camera with wide-angle lens and LED flash support. On the other hand, the Moto G5S Plus comes with a dual camera setup at the rear, with two 13-megapixel sensors, and an 8MP front camera with wide-angle lens and LED flash support. Another highlight feature is the use of an all-metal unibody design.

The Moto G5S runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and sports a 5.2-inch full-HD display. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz and coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Moto G5S comes with 32GB of in-built storage and expandable to up to 128GB.

The larger variant, Moto G5S Plus also runs 7.1 Nougat but features a bigger 5.5-inch full-HD display. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked up at 2.0GHz, the G5S Plus will be available in two RAM/Storage options — 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The storage is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Both the phones come with 3000mAh battery with Turbo charging. It will be available in Lunar Gray and Blush Gold colors. Prices will be around Rs 18,900 for the G5S and Rs 22,700 for the G5S Plus and will be made available by the end of this month.
