Amazon patents 'blended-reality' mirror
Amazon has reportedly filed a patent for this new kind of mirror which will help one dress up' in virtual clothes.
Have you ever imagined standing in your bedroom and looking like a million dollars in a beautiful outfit (without even owning it) in some other part of the world? Thanks to Amazon, this is soon going to be a reality.
The e-commerce giant has reportedly filed for a patent to the United States Patent and Trademark Office for this new kind of mirror which will help us ‘dress up’ virtually without having to own a real pair of the outfit. This mirror is expected to combine reflected and transmitted images and data from cameras, displays and projectors which will help the user to choose from multiple dresses and surroundings.
In the patent filed, the description of the use of displays, cameras and projectors to accurately capture the movements of the user are stated. The mirror is expected to blend the real and artificial images. This will be done by manipulating the amount of light reflected and the amount of light transmitted. The device will be using a technology which specialises in creating 3D models of human movement using AI software developed by Body Labs.
