The roll-out was first spotted by WABetainfo and claims that the support has arrived in contries like India, Sri Lanka, Japan and Kuwait for some users.

WhatsApp with a user-base of around 1.2 billion, is among the most popular chatting apps globally. The app-runners are constantly looking for ways to improve the user experience on the chatting platform. As first reported by PhoneRadar, WhatsApp is now planning on adding a new ‘Night Mode’ to the app’s camera.

The report suggests that the latest feature is specifically designed to deliver photos in low-light conditions. How it works? Users simply need to tap on the crescent moon icon located on the top-right corner of the camera, and click the picture in the ‘Dark Mode’ filter.

As noted by Gadgets 360, the ‘Night Mode’ appears by default only when the camera sensor detects low-light conditions. “The icon changes colour to yellow to show Night Mode is activated. The feature is available in photos only, and we did not notice any change in lighting while recording videos, nor was there the WhatsApp Night Mode icon in video mode,” the report read.

The ‘Night Mode’ feature is only available for the latest version of WhatsApp for iPhone as of now. This feature will be released on Android soon.
