WhatsApp's Status' feature to change, again

The chatting platform will now allow users to post status updates with colourful backgrounds.

The roll-out was first spotted by WABetainfo and claims that the support has arrived in contries like India, Sri Lanka, Japan and Kuwait for some users.

Popular chatting platform WhatsApp, is about to get another major change. If reports are to be believed, then users will now be able to post status updates with colourful backgrounds. According to a report by Android Police, the feature can be spotted in the latest beta version of the chatting platform.

The feature is available in WhatsApp Android beta version 2.17.291, the report reads. However, the feature is still available to a limited number of beta users. There’s also a floating pen icon in the Status tab, which allows users to access an option to type a status in a particular font and even add emojis.

The company hasn’t confirmed the latest update as of yet.
