Here's how you can freely upgrade to Windows 10

Love it or hate it, Windows 10 is the future of personal computing. The most updated version of Windows comes with modern features and advanced security features, even though it has some performance issues on low-end computers. Microsoft introduced Windows 10 as a free upgrade to all users running an older version of Windows until July of 2016. However, a loophole allowed users to upgrade freely to Windows 10 until now.

Microsoft has quietly revised some of its Windows upgrade term and conditions, under which the company has limited the free upgrade period for those people using Accessibility features. The revised FAQ page shows the last date for upgrading to Windows 10 as 31st December 2017. Users who required the use of accessibility features had the option to upgrade to Windows 10, even after the general free upgrade option was exhausted last July.

“We're committed to making sure customers using assistive technologies can upgrade to Windows 10. The accessibility upgrade offer expires on December 31, 2017,” said Microsoft on their blog.

With this revision, it seems that Microsoft is gettings serious with its services and its intentions to make money. Previous versions of Windows were always a paid upgrade, which saw seldom preference by existing users. Even though Windows 10 isn't popular with those seeking a no-nonsense OS, many users upgraded to the OS for a modern and secured user experience.
