Airtel updates Rs 448, Rs 509 plans to go against Jio
Airtel also revised its Rs 799 prepaid plan last week. Under the new plan, users will get up to 3.5GB 4G data per day.
Airtel has altered two of its prepaid plans, adding extra validity in order to go head-to-head with Reliance Jio. Airtel has now increased the validity of its Rs 448 and Rs 509 prepaid plans.
Under the updated Rs 448 plan, Airtel subscribers will get unlimited voice calls and 1GB 3G/4G data per day with a validity of Rs 82 days, up from 70 days.
The Rs 509 plan, on the other hand, offers validity of 91 days and at the same price as a similar plan from Reliance Jio but with more validity. Other benefits include unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data per day.
Airtel offers unlimited calling, but there are terms and conditions, the voice calls are limited to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week.
Airtel also revised its Rs 799 prepaid plan last week. Under the new plan, users will get up to 3.5GB 4G data per day. In total, the plan offers 98GB total data with a validity of 28 days.
The plan also offers unlimited local and STD calls, however, there is a daily limit of 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes for the week. The company made this tariff available for subscribers in Delhi/NCR, Assam, UP East, Chennai, Mumbai, UP West, and Uttarakhand, etc, in November 2017.
Besides, the plan also offers free outgoing and incoming on national roaming calls, and 100 free local + STD SMS per day.
Airtel’s new offer is in line with Jio’s Rs 799 prepaid plan that offers a total of 84GB 4G data with a daily FUP limit of 3GB for 28 days. The plan also offers unlimited local and STD calls with unlimited SMS.
