Apple has announced that its Health Records feature on the iPhone will soon be available to military veterans. It will be the first time US veterans will receive care through the Veterans Health Administration.

In its official blog, Apple explained that Health Records will allow veterans across the US to see their medical information from participating institutions organised into one view all in the Health app on the iPhone.

The feature, built in collaboration with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) would potentially allow over 9 million veterans access aggregated medical records.

The data will include information about allergies, conditions, immunizations, lab results, medications, procedures, and vitals. Apple stressed that all of this data is encrypted and protected with the iPhone’s passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID.
