Tesla owners to soon get a Dog Mode

The mode is not actually for owners to leave their pets inside and forget about it.

Shares of the company, which produced 5,300 Model 3s in the last week of its third quarter ended Sept. 30, were down nearly 2 percent in late-afternoon trading.

After tweeting about a ‘Sentry Mode’ for Tesla owners to keep an eye on their vehicle when it is parked, the company is set to roll out a ‘Dog Mode’ for those who like to travel with their dear pets.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to reveal that the Dog Mode and the Sentry Mode will be rolled out this week.

The Dog Mode, as Cnet reports, would allow climate control to run like it normally would, providing a room-temperature environment for animals left in the car briefly. The mode might also display if the dog is safe.

The mode is not actually for owners to leave their pets inside and forget about it, but more like creating a comfortable environment for the pet pooch in case you have to stop by for a pack of treats.
