The Ride Mode will be rolled out in batches via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for the Honor 9 Lite initially.

The issue of road safety has crept up as a prime CSR responsibility for several big players in the world of technology. Samsung had started providing a bike mode for its budget J-series smartphones from the past few years as an effort to curb two-wheeler accidents in the country due to distracted riding. Following suit, Honor is also rolling out a similar feature for most its budget smartphones, known by the name of Ride Mode.

The Ride Mode works pretty similar to the S Bike Mode in Samsung smartphones — to enable ‘Ride-Mode’; user needs to activate the feature either from drop-down notifications menu or by going to the phone’s ‘Settings’. Once enabled, the caller will be notified that the user is currently riding, and cannot answer calls. The feature, however, allows the caller to call the rider by pressing numeric 1 in-case of urgency or emergency.

The Ride Mode will be rolled out in batches via Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for the Honor 9 Lite initially. If you are using the Honor 9 Lite, keep checking for software updates. Honor will eventually roll out the feature to other budget smartphones from its portfolio such as the Honor 7X and the Honor 9i.
