iPhone gets WhatsApp YouTube integration
The video continues to play even after a user exits the chat.
iPhone users can finally rejoice as WhatsApp's YouTube integration feature is finally available for them. The app has been considering to collaborate and imbibe YouTube into its chat interface for quite sometime now. And now that it is finally possible, the iPhone users will have to download the latest version v2.18.11 of WhatsApp for iPhone from the App Store to get the new YouTube PiP (Picture-in-Picture) support feature.
The users will now be able to tap on a YouTube link to open up a YouTube video in the app itself. The video pops up in a small bubble and comes with play/pause, close, and fullscreen buttons. Earlier, when users clicked on the link, the YouTube video would open in YouTube app installed on smartphones. Meanwhile, users also have the option of increasing and decreasing the size of the video bubble and it can be moved anywhere on the screen. The fun part about this new feature is that the YouTube video continues to play even after a user exits the chat. The video continues to play even when a user switches to another chat.
And while the iOS users will be able to enjoy this feature on WhatsApp, the Android users will have to wait for it.
