Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be launching on PC in chronological order.

Halo fans have been anxiously waiting for the franchise to make a grand return to PC and now finally after countless pizza’s being sent over to the developer’s office we have the news we’ve been waiting for.

Halo is all set to make its return to PC and they’re making sure the PC community doesn’t miss out on anything that’s happened so far. 343 Industries announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be launching on PC in chronological order, starting with the latest addition; Halo Reach (arguably one of the best Halo games). This way the PC community finally gets to play the entire Halo story thanks to six games being included with Halo: MCC; Halo Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary; Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo 4; and lets not forget all the multiplayer action that goes along with the six full campaigns of Halo.

The best part about the announcement however, is the fact that not only is Halo Reach being added to the collection, it’s getting the full upgrade treatment with 4K visuals and HDR that is bound to make the PC crowd happy. Plus in addition to keyboard mouse support they’re adding FOV sliders and ultrawide support for PC as well.

It seems after all these years of waiting, one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history is coming back to its roots. The kicker that really sent the internet into a frenzy was the fact that it would not be a Windows Store exclusive like all Microsoft first party games; Halo The Master Chief Collection will launch on both Windows Store and Steam; a big win for steam given how many publishers are exploring options like Epic Store and GOG. Unfortunately, there’s no release window yet though it is open for sign ups for early testing and closed betas for both Xbox and PC so you can get your fill of Halo for the time being.
