No list of mobile games would be complete without a mentioning the goliath that is PUBG Mobile.

Most people look down upon mobile games, but the truth is mobile games actually need a lot more depth than PC on console games because they need to be simple enough for anyone to pick up, quick enough to just jump in at a moments notice and have enough content to keep people coming back for more. Here are some mobile games worth checking out as 2018 draws to a close...

Command and Conquer Rivals
The legendary PC Real Time Strategy franchise recently made its debut on mobile and while response has been luke warm with only a few million downloads; its actually quite good. It stays true to its roots and feels like a command and conquer game while making a good shift in gameplay mechanics for mobile users. The Free to play model revolves around crates and challenges to unlocks cards for level ups, but at no time will you feel that you just simply have to pay to progress. That being said, some cards are clearly more powerful than others but EA is coming out with regular updates and balance tweaks and the game is a ton of fun.

Pokémon GO
While the game is over two years old now, it’s certainly come a long way. Pokémon GO’s latest updated finally adds PvP battles allowing you to battle with players around you and your friends remotely. The PvP itself is quite shallow, but its enough to bring back a lot of players who’ve been waiting for quite a while to finally show off their powerful Pokémon. Besides the battles a regular calendar of community day’s for popular Pokemon and a flurry of special raids have kept their player numbers up and the community activity. If you’re a fan of the concept, try checking out Ingress from the Niantic.

Kingdom Rush Origins and Kingdom Rush Frontiers
The tower defense franchise was at its peak with Origins and Frontiers. Battle through an entertaining campaign with a variety of different heroes allowing you to change up your play styles with different summoner spells as well. Beyond the campaign there are a few endless wave missions that add to the replay value and I find myself still playing every now and then, despite the game being several years old.

PUBG Mobile
No list of mobile games would be complete without a mentioning the goliath that is PUBG Mobile. A great port of its popular PC counterpart, PUBG Mobile is easily the one of the most popular and successful mobile games on the market right now. It brings the Battle Royale Genre to mobile and has more content than PC with regular updates and of course new skins to keep players excited.
