Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro, Mi TV 4 goes on sale from today

Xiaomi's latest products will start selling from today on Flipkart and Mi.com.

If you still prefer the old school buttons at the bottom, you can keep using that you don't have to be limited in Xiaomi's Android-based MIUI OS.

Last week, Xiaomi unveiled three new products for the Indian market — the Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro and Mi LED TV 4. The company announced that all the new products will be available from February 22 on selected e-commerce platforms — the Mi TV 4 will be available on mi.com from 2 p.m. whereas the Redmi Note 5 as well as the Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available on both Flipkart and mi.com from 12 p.m. The products will also be available for purchase in Mi homes and other offline retail partners.

The most powerful model of the Redmi Note series — the Redmi Note 5 Pro, is powered by a Snapdragon 636 chipset accompanied by either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The storage capacity remains standard at 64GB. The Note 5 Pro runs MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2.  The rear camera is a 12MP + 5MP unit whereas the selfie camera is a 20MP unit aided by AI algorithms and accompanied by an LED flash. The Note 5 Pro sports a 5.99-inch LCD display, which is as big as that of the Mi MIX 2. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery and is available in four colours — black, gold, pink and blue. The Redmi Note 5 shares most of the specifications with the Note 5 Pro but differs in the camera and chipset department. Essentially a rebranded Redmi 5 Plus from China, the ‘standard’ Note 5 sports a Snapdragon 625 chipset accompanied by either 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage. A rear camera is a 12MP unit whereas the selfie camera is a 5MP unit with an LED flash. It also runs on MIUI 9.2 based on Android Nougat and will be powered by a 4000mAh battery. It is available in four colours — black, gold, pink and blue. The Redmi Note 5 sells for Rs 9,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant and goes up to Rs 11,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant. As for the Mi TV 4, the company is boasting of an ultra-thin narrow-bezel frame housing a 4K HDR LED-backlit panel. It is equipped with Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound. The smart TV is equipped with Xiaomi’s custom PatchWall OS based on Google’s Android, which brings in content from all available sources on the desktop.
