Snapchat gets snazzy
Make your uploads more colourful with Snapchat's newest features.
Snapchat users rejoice! The company has come out with a couple of new features called Multi-Snap and Tint Brush. With these latest updates, the user will not miss out on any special moment. The Multi-Snap recording feature is coming to iOS first and a release for Android has also been planned. The Tint Brush feature has been launched on both iOS and Android.
The Multi-Snap will let the user record multiple 10-second clips for a total of 60 seconds. These clips can then be decorated with Snapchat’s built-in creative tools and filters. The user can just hold down the record button to make sure they capture what they are trying to Snap, instead of having to guess the timing and repeatedly tap and hold. The objective behind Multi-Snap is to encourage users to record more videos. This feature is a big step in terms of improving user experience. In addition to these, individual Snaps in the sequence can be deleted. Users also do not have to post the whole segment, they can pick and choose from the series of segments.
Tint Brush allows the user to select colours specific to objects and areas of a particular Snap. Tint Brush is found inside the Scissors tool. It uses object-recognition technology. This feature will be familiar to those who have used a tinting app or Photoshop's magic wand function. Users can select a new colour and highlight an area by tracing it using their finger. The tool uses machine learning to select the targeted area and fill the white space with the new colour. It also preserves the image details underneath it at the same time. Currently, Tint Brush is limited to photos and it only works after the photo has been captured.
Tech experts consider these new additions to be an interesting development as these give Snapchat an advantage over its competitors like Instagram.
