Microsoft recently rolled out numerous updates and new features into its PC OS. The newly released Windows 10 April 2018 update has also seen some amount of bugbears strike, and the latest one seems to have some serious glitches, as per a fresh report.

Softpedia asserted that the upgrade process is breaking down a number of PCs, making it difficult to boot to desktop. As of now, it is known how widespread the bug is. However, the issue doesn't seem to have affected a large number of users, according to the forums.

“I was informed that the configuration had completely corrupted the operating system in all three computers taken in so far today.  I have had a new operating system installed and have lost software that I must now re-purchase, not to mention hours lost to work and an entire day waiting for the repair,” the user explained.

The report suggests that the "restart and install" prompt for the Windows 10 update led to a black screen displaying the following error message, “Location is not available C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable.  If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again.  If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or Internet, and then try again.  If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted.”

The company hasn't yet acknowledged the bug, but the issue might soon be taken into account. If you haven't updated yet, it would be better stalling the update for now.
