Robots Can Now be constructed by Kids - Global Space
The robotic kits are based on STEM concept where children build their own robots and program them using a PC, a tablet or a smartphone.
GlobalSpace Technologies, on Monday announced the launch of ‘Makebot’, their STEM based educational DIY robotic kits. Makebot is an Edu-Tech working to provide the latest technologies in education to students across the country.
GlobalSpace has tied up with Makeblock; a global firm with tech-transfer in India, who conceptualize and manufacture the next generation robotic kits. This partnership is formed with exclusivity to promote Makebot’s STEM based educational /DIY robotic kits in India. These kits are targeted towards elementary, primary and secondary school kids and are also available in basic, intermediate and advanced levels of difficulty to suit the measure of their comfort. These robotic kits are based on a STEM concept which allows children to build their own robots and program them with ease using a PC, a tablet or a smartphone. These kits aid in learning programming through graphical simulation and in understanding the basic fundamentals of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as well. Makebot is also coming up with a vocational curriculum for students who would like to opt for a preliminary level of robotics education in schools. Later, the secondary level and the advance level of the curriculum will also be introduced as a part of the same program.
The Various Makebot DIY Kits include:- The MBot V 1.1 (Basic) for ages 8-10, The Ranger (Intermediate) for ages 10-12, and The Ultimate (Advance) for ages 12-15.
There are also a few add-on kits available with the Mbot V 1.1, where users can extend the programming of the robot with some new age features.
