Tell yummy tales
The hotel-locating app Tell makes the process simpler based on your preferences and rating by bloggers, chefs and foodies.
Finding the right place to go out for a quick lunch or an elaborate dinner is often a headache. Although there are plenty of apps to help one hunt down the perfect location for food, here is one new app that is bound to stand out from the clutter for two major reasons. The app Tell, which is also available for iOS now, is aimed at making the restaurant/hotel-finding process easier.
Here are the two methods by which Tell stands apart from the rest of the food-finding apps. Firstly, it collects in simple recommendation, as people ultimately just want to know if they should go to a restaurant or not. Secondly, it keeps away random recommendations found on Yelp or Foursquare and instead shows a curated list of pointers and recommendations from food bloggers, celebrity chefs and food influences, basically the kind of people public might already be following or the ones they trust.
The group also allows one to select a group of trustworthy advisers that has partnered with the app. These include publications like Infatuation, Eater, Michelin Star, Lonely Planet, Time Out, Grub Street and Zagat, and bloggers such as the Brunch Boys and No Leftovers. A user can pick as many influencers as they prefer or can stick to a small numbers of influencers too. They can then pick the city on the map in which they are looking for a restaurant. All of the spots recommended by the people on your list will be mapped out.
The app also has features such as save any restaurants the user has been looking forward to checking out or returning to. Another way to filter results is through type of food or occasion. The app also taps into your social network, allowing you to share recommendations with your friends and Tell users in your contacts.
