A user and friends do not have to be on the same service to share music'.

SoundShare has rolled out an interesting new feature this week. The app has introduced something called 'Party Mode'. This will let the user's friends play songs through the user's device. The original version of the app was meant for sharing music while the user is away from friends. The new version - 3.0 - has a feature that makes sharing easier when together.

This means users can start a party inside SoundShare and invite friends to control the music. The feature works over the app itself, which means it could also be used to have a remote co-listening party with friends.

The app supports sharing music that can be streamed via Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer, as well as YouTube. What stands out about this particular new addition is that the user and his or her friends do not have to be on the same service. The collaboratively chosen songs can also stream through YouTube to Apple TV with AirPlay. Users can share individual tracks and playlists.

The app uses iTunes as the music search engine and YouTube as the audio source. SoundShare, however, will replace the search engine and audio source with user-preferred music service after the user links their favourite music service account to the app.

For instance, if a user has connected his/her Spotify account, he or she can search for a song in this account and send it over to a friend who can listen to it on their Apple Music account. Users can also pick YouTube as their default player if they prefer to watch the music video when receiving songs.

Users can also use the new stealth mode if they do not wish their friends to see what is being shared or listened to.
