Vivo is working on a budget-friendly NEX Dual Display Edition

The upcoming smartphone will come loaded with a Snapdragon 710 SoC and toned-down camera sensors.

Vivo will we launching a cheaper variant of the NEX Dual Display Edition and it will feature 8GB of RAM and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC.

It was only just recently that Vivo announced its new flagship smartphone, the NEX Dual Display Edition. This handset offers a revolutionary dual-screen design that is said to provide a multifaceted smartphone experience. It features a triple camera setup and industry-leading technologies such as 10GB RAM along with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a TOF 3D Camera with 3D sensing technology for enhanced facial recognition protection. In a bid to reach a wider audience, Vivo is now rumoured to launch a cost-friendly version of the handset.

As per a report by GSMArena, Vivo will we launching a cheaper variant of the NEX Dual Display Edition and it will feature 8GB of RAM and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. The camera configuration is believed to be altered as well with the upcoming handset sporting a 12MP + 13MP + 2MP triple-camera setup. The handset will also come with a 3425mAh battery and come in just a gold colour option.  As far as other features go, the budget NEX Dual Display Edition will carry over the same features found on its higher-priced sibling.

For those in the dark, the NEX Dual Display Edition features a 6.39-inch Ultra FullView Display at the front, it is an upgrade from the previous generation. It boasts an improved screen-to-body ratio of 91.63 per cent and it comes in a notch-free design that offers an immersive viewing experience to users. With an additional 5.49-inch Super AMOLED display on the phone’s back, the NEX Dual Display Edition delivers an unconventional smartphone experience by allowing greater flexibility in using the rear cameras. High-quality selfies are now easier than ever before, as users can simply use the main cameras along with the rear screen to get the perfect angles for selfies.

The NEX Dual Display Edition’s triple camera setup consists of a 12MP Dual-Pixel main camera (featuring a Sony IMX363 sensor and 4-axis OIS), a specialised Night Video Camera and an innovative Time of Flight (TOF) 3D Camera. The pro-level Night Video Camera helps users film clear and stable footage in motion and low-light environments, while the TOF 3D Camera empowers users to see the world with an added dimension. Its 3D sensing capabilities enable point-to-point distance measuring as well as supports 3D Modelling of the user’s face for enhanced facial recognition, protection and personalised beautification.

The NEX Dual Display Edition adopts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and comes with 10GB RAM and 128GB ROM. It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner along with a TOF 3D Camera with 3D sensing technology for enhanced facial recognition protection.

As of now, it is unclear when the budget variant of the NEX Dual Display Edition will be launching; but since its already certified by the TENAA in China, the official announcement should be in the near future.
