The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus started rolling out the new Android 8.0 Oreo update to its latest flagship OnePlus 5T. The users started receiving this OTA (over-the-air) update via OxygenOS V5.0.2. The company also satisfied the consumers who bought OnePlus 5 by adding face unlock feature with this update, which OnePlus 5T users have been enjoying along.

Subsequently, the 5T users have got to taste this Oreo update, which includes a new design for Quick Settings, a CPU security patch and critical bug fixes and improvements. This upgrade also features updated versions of Launcher, Gallery, Weather and File Manager apps. “We’ve added an APK called Mkey, this is a font resource that was provided officially for India for local font compatibility needs. This can be uninstalled by users if not needed or wanted, but we are required to provide it,” the company said in its forum.

OnePlus has been in the news lately for some serious allegations and releasing new editions of its Flagship concurrently.  However, the company still manages to gratify the OnePlus users by releasing these timely updates. OnePlus had previously rolled out this Oreo update to OnePlus 5/3T/3 users. 5T may be late to the party as the phone itself had been launched in November last year.
