Rewinding back to June, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth posted an image on Twitter, clicked using a 64MP GW1 sensor and also promised that the new 64MP quad-camera phone will debut in India first.

Realme’s recent tweet suggests that the day has arrived. The smartphone maker has announced a “Camera Innovation Event” on August 8 in the Indian capital New Delhi where it will reveal more about its 64MP quad-camera technology.

Realme recently launched phones with dual cameras on the rear – Realme 3 series and Realme X, in which one of the sensors is a depth sensor. Realme has not yet introduced a triple camera phone in the market but from what it looks like, the Chinese company is ready to leap forward and launch a quad-camera device. We think the company might add in telephoto and ultra-wide-angle module to accompany the 64MP main sensor. The fourth module will probably be a depth sensor unit.
