Xiaomi Mi 7 tipped to boast Snapdragon 845 SoC, launch in early 2018
The smartphone will likely be called the Mi7 and is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm's next generation chipset.
Xiaomi launched the Mi 6 smartphone in April, and we already have rumours about the next Xiaomi flagship. The smartphone will likely be called the Mi7 and is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s next generation chipset.
According to a Weibo post, the alleged smartphone is said to be unveiled in the first quarter next year. The post also mentions the incorporation of the Snapdragon 845 chip which is under development and will be developed using the 7nm process.
The Weibo post also suggests that the smartphone will pack a bigger display compared to its predecessor. It can sport a 6-inch display produced by Samsung. The Mi 6 came with a 5.15-inch LCD display.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that the next generation of the Mi Mix smartphone — the Mi Mix 2 will be launched on September 11. The company made the announcement on a Weibo post showing the outline of the device with thinner bezels than the previous Mi Mix. Xiaomi claims this to be an evolution of the last year’s device, as expected from the leaks.
Xiaomi’s teaser resembles a lot to the phone shown in Philippe’s video, which could mean that the final product could come with a very slim chin at the bottom housing the front camera. The Mi Mix 2 will have an unparalleled screen-to-body ratio and the curved edges will pronounce the effect it intends to achieve.
