OnePlus 6 begins tasting Android 9 Pie open beta
Android 9.0 Oreo open beta is available for OnePlus' flagship handset with new gesture navigation in tow.
For those who have been eagerly waiting for the latest Google Android OS for their OnePLus 6, here is some good news for you. The open beta of Android 9 Pie is now available as a manual download from OnePlus’ forum.
OnePlus has stated that they are very excited to announce that they are ready to roll out the first Open Beta build based on Android 9.0 Pie for the OnePlus 6. With the update, you get the update system to Android Pie. In it, you will find a brand new UI, new Android P gesture navigation along with other features and system improvements.
OnePlus has added their features as well which include supported accent colour customisation, a new do not disturb mode with adjustable settings and a new gaming mode. In Gaming Mode 3.0, you get added text notification mode and added notifications for third-party calls.
However, there are some known issues as well such as some applications may not function as expected when running on this beta version, Google Pay service is not working and lastly, Google Play Store might show "Device is not Certified by Google".
To download the ROM upgrade package, click here. Then copy ROM upgrade package to the mobile phone storage. Then go to Settings -> system updates -> top right corner icon -> local upgrade -> click on the installation package -> immediately upgrade -> system upgrade to 100%. After this is completed, select Reboot system now and then the update will be successful.
