The Galaxy Note 8 is currently the best Samsung smartphone available in the market. Samsung has put its best display, best processor, best camera and all the unique features possible that they can cram into a smartphone. The dual rear camera has been one of its highlights and we were interested to see how it fared against iPhone 8 Plus’ camera. The guys at DxOMark have released their test scores for the Note 8 and it is on par with the iPhone 8 Plus.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has scored a DxOMark of 94, which is the highest score ever awarded to a smartphone. The iPhone 8 Plus with its dual camera setup also scores 94, thus making Note 8’s rivalry with the iPhone 8 Plus more spicy for their respective fans.

DxOMark has termed the Note 8 as the first smartphone hit 100 points in terms of still photography. They say that Samsung’s phablet provides excellent zoom quality, good noise reduction and detail preservation, as well as fast and accurate autofocus. However, the average went down to 94 as the video quality suffered a bit compared to the competition.

Compared to the iPhone 8 Plus, the Note 8 loses out on colour vibrancy and dynamic ranges but shines in preserving details and instant zoom. If you were having doubts about the Note 8’s camera, you can check out DxOMark’s in-depth analysis of the photo here.
