Xiaomi teases the upcoming Redmi 4 for India
The second entry in the Redmi 4 series will be the middle version, followed by the higher Redmi 4 Prime.
Xiaomi is busy refreshing its entire line-up of smartphones in India. The Redmi Note 4 entered India early 2017, followed by the affordable Redmi 4A last month. Now, Xiaomi is preparing to give its Indian fans a taste of the Snapdragon 435 processor in the upcoming Redmi 4 smartphone.
Teased by Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet this morning, Xiaomi is possibly preparing the Redmi 4 for launch in India. The Tweet states the announcement of an upcoming Redmi series phone, citing it as the second biggest announcement this month.

The Redmi 4 will be the second entry-level offering from Xiaomi and will offer the Octa-Core Cortex-A53 Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset. Since the Redmi 4A has already been launched with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, we expect the Redmi 4 to come with 3GB RAM and 32 GB storage options. The Redmi 4 sports a 5-inch 720 x 1280 HD display with a 2.5D curved glass. It has a 13MP rear camera as well as a 5MP selfie camera. There's a 4,100mAh battery for providing power to the phone. How do we know all that? Well, the Redmi 4 was launched as the Redmi 4X in China in February 2017 along with the Mi 5c.
The Redmi 4A was launched at a price of Rs 5,999. So we expect the Redmi 4 to be launched in the range of Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000. It could pose a serious threat to the Moto G4 Play and the group of similarly priced Samsung Galaxy J series smartphones.
