The Nokia 4.2 will be available in a single configuration in India which is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with it being priced at Rs 10,999.

The Nokia 4.2 was first unveiled way back at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona and after months of waiting, HMD Global has finally announced the handset in India. This smartphone comes with an impressively competitive price tag and it is based on Google’s Android One platform. The handset has its unique traits that separate from the hordes of smartphones in this price range and the most notable features are a dedicated Google Assistant Button and a notification light on the power button.

The Nokia 4.2 will be available in a single configuration in India which is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with it being priced at Rs 10,999. When unveiled earlier this year, there was also a 2GB variant, but it appears that HMD Global is holding off that variant in India as of now. The Nokia 4.2 will be available in two colour options —Black and Pink Sand, the latter of which looks quite beautiful.

The Nokia 4.2 is already available for purchase at the brand’s official store, which will be exclusive for a week; after which it will be available across several retail channels such as Croma, Reliance, Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C and more from May 14. The wide release of the handset is scheduled for May 21 across India.

HMD Global is offering Rs 500 discount for those who purchase it through their online web portal. Those interested in purchasing the handset can use the LAUNCHOFFER promo code to avail of the discount which will last till June 10, 2019. Also, Vodafone Idea subscribers are eligible to receive Rs 2,500 cashback by way of Rs 50 vouchers of Rs 50 each. The brand is also offering a free screen replacement for Nokia 4.2 buyers that will be valid for 6 months.

The Nokia 4.2 follows the same design trend that the company has been employing with their past devices but has added a water-drop notch up front instead of a traditional notch. The handset comes with a 2.5D curved glass display on the front as well as rear that give it a rich look. The bottom bezel is a bit large considering it is a 2019 handset but for this price, there aren’t many complaints from us. The handset also comes with a traditional fingerprint scanner at the back that lies flush with the body.

The handset runs on a stock version of Android 9.0 Pie and has support for two Nanao SIM cards and a microSD card slot up to 400GB. The Nokia 4.2 features a 5.71-inch HD+ display that sports a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels with a 19:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 270ppi. Under the hood, the Nokia 4.2 features an octa-core Snapdragon 439 SoC that’s paired with an Adreno 505 GPU.

There is a dual camera setup on the rear that includes a 13MP sensor with an F/2.2 lens and a 2MP secondary sensor with an F/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera comprises of an 8MP shooter with an F/2.0 lens. Lastly, the handset comes with a 3000mAh battery, an NFC chip and Face Unlock capabilities.
