So is the OnePlus 5 durable enough for your daily use?

Before the OnePlus 5’s unveiling, the company hinted the public that they were working with DxOMark, one of the recognised camera testing organisations of the world, to create a great camera smartphone. Therefore, it was known that the OnePlus 5 would sport a great rear camera. Now, the company has made available the DxO rating for the OnePlus 5 and it’s on par with the flagship smartphones of last year.

The OnePlus scores a DxOMark of 87, which is impressive for a smartphone camera. The test rates the OnePlus 5’s dual camera sensor for accurate and vivid white balance as well as colours. Autofocus is extremely fast and the image stabilisation works well in proper illuminated conditions. However, the camera unit suffers from luminance noise in indoors as well as under extremely bright light.

The DxOMark of 87 puts the OnePlus 5 on par with the two years old Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and the Moto Z Force. It falls behind the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the Samsung Galaxy S8, which has a score of 88. It also fails to bother the leader of the list – the HTC U11 with a score of 90.

For its price, the OnePlus 5 provides a really good camera. The only issue is that it fell short of the company’s hype of creating a great camera smartphone.
