OnePlus 5 recently got a new update, but ran into some gaming issues causing stability problems. The company has acknowledged the problem and withdrew the update immediately.

The flagship OnePlus 5 was recently given an update to the OxygenOS operating system last week. However, the update v4.5.7 was soon detected with issues relating to some gaming problems. After citing complaints from users, the system update was immediately withdrawn. The 4.5.7 update caused problems with gaming applications and has now been rectified with a new update that has started rolling out from OnePlus. The new update v4.5.8 is now released, and it carries the same features with the previous issues being fixed. The update has started rolling out to a batch of users and will soon be released slowly to everyone in the next few days. The new update features a new Slate font, added EIS for 4K videos, a security patch, optimizations for Wi-Fi connectivity and standby battery enhancements. Bug fixes involves occasional sound leaks in the speakers whilst using the earphones, camera shutter sound bug in silent mode in Indian region, stuttering when playing games and battery drain issues witnessed for Jio users.
