Honor, Huawei’s online-focused brand, has added another smartphone to its portfolio. Called the V9 Play, the smartphone is supposed to cater to the budget segment, with prices starting at CNY 999 (Rs 9,800) and going up to CNY 1,199 (Rs 11,700).

The V9 Play is built on a MediaTek MT6750 octa-core chipset and comes with a choice of either 3GB or 4GB RAM along with a 32GB onboard storage, which is expandable up to 128GB. It sports a 5.2-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass, indicating its intention of being a budget-friendly smartphone. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat powered EMUI 5.1, which is Honor’s customised user interface.

The V9 Play also comes with a fingerprint sensor, which is a standard affair even in budget smartphones these days. There’s a 13MP sensor at the back with an aperture of f/2.0, PDAF and single LED flash whereas the front camera is an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. To power the device, there’s a 3000mAh battery under the hood. Expect Honor to bring this phone in India for competing with the likes of Xiaomi’s Redmi 4 and Moto E4.
