Apple is believed to kill the notch with the iPhone 12.

Apple went with the tried and tested route with the iPhone 11 series and these smartphones are one of the greatest upgrades that Apple has ever launched. However, they don’t drum up much excitement as what Apple has in store for us in 2020.

After a plethora of leaks, we have a fair idea of Apple’s plans to launch a smartphone that’s completely redesigned and now expert graphic artists from PhoneArena have put them together giving us the very first look at the upcoming 2020 iPhone 12.

The biggest outcome is Apple’s constantly leaked plans to switch back the iPhone 12 to a boxier design that was seen on the iPhone 4 as well as doing as much as they can to shrink the notch as much as possible. Apple is also expected to introduce a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor and Bloomberg claims that the addition of the long-range 3D capabilities to the primary shooter will help in enabling the mapping of surroundings up to 15 feet away. This feature is expected to help enhance augmented reality apps.

There are flaws with this design and Apple won’t use the fourth camera because the ToF sensor is tiny and 3D is expected to come to the primary lens. This means that the triple-camera array will look similar to the ones seen on the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.

What these renders won’t show is the vast amount of internal modifications that are expected to feature in the iPhone 12. Possibly, the biggest feature here is the inclusion of 5G on every iPhone. The return of Touch ID, as well as ProMotion on the iPhones, will be great selling points as well. The highly-sought-after switch from Lightning to USB Type-C may be a popular choice for Android owners making the jump to iPhone.

The biggest setback here will undoubtedly be the cost of the handset as reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the addition of 5G could make the iPhone’s price to skyrocket. However, if Apple manages to keep the cost down to a minimum, this could be one of the most exciting smartphones in all of history.
