Redmi 6A to feature 3GB RAM and 32GB storage
Starting from July 10, the Redmi 6A will come in this latest offering.
In June Xiaomi officially unveiled the Redmi 6 and 6A devices. At the time of its launch, the Redmi 6A was announced in just a single flavour — 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. As per a listing on a Chinese retail website JD.com, the Redmi 6A will come in a new offering, 3GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
As of now, the Redmi 6A with this configuration will only be available in Gold and no other colour yet. The handset will go on sale in China starting from July 10.
The Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 will come across as the successor to the Redmi 5A and the Redmi 5, with the latter launched only a few months ago. Both the handsets sport a 5.45-inches 18:9 LCD IPS displays with a resolution of HD+ and are powered by MediaTek chipsets — the Redmi 6A is powered by a MediaTek A22 SoC whereas the Redmi 6 is built around the Helio P22 chip. The Redmi 6 is available in 3GB/32GB as well as 4GB/64GB variants.
The Redmi 6A sports a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera whereas the Redmi 6 sports a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup and a 5MP front camera. Both are backed by a 3000mAh battery and run MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
In India, the Redmi 6 and 6A are expected to be launched in India by September.The Redmi 6 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage costs CNY 799 (about Rs 8,285) while the base version of the Redmi 6A costs CNY 599 (about Rs 6,211) and the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage costs CNY 699 (about Rs 7,248).
