ASUS launches ZenFone Pegasus 3S with 3GB RAM and 5000mAh battery

The new device comes with an all-metal body and will be available for the Chinese markets.

ASUS has unveiled the Pegasus 3S smartphone with a new design and enhanced performance. The new device comes with an all-metal body and will be available for the Chinese markets.

The device packs an antenna band design similar to the one seen on the iPhone 7. However, the Pegasus 3S houses the fingerprint sensor integrated in the home button on the front panel, unlike the sensor on the rear panel see on its predecessor. The scanner is optimized to spot up to 5 different fingerprints and it even supports payment operations.

As for specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.2-inch IPS HD display with 2.5D glass. It is powered by an octa core, 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also a 64GB variant available, which can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.

The highlight of the Pegasus 3S is its 5000mAh battery that has support for fast charging. ASUS says that the battery is capable of powering the phone for 30 days in standby mode or offer 48 hours of intense use.

On the photography front, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, while there is an 8MP front facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options include as Wi-Fi, VoLTE and 4G. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and will be selling at a price of $288 for the 64GB memory variant. The phone will go on sale starting this month.
