The Galaxy S8 is the first commercially available smartphone to feature the Bluetooth 5 standard.

Samsung recently introduced its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones, taking the market by a storm. Now, the company reportedly claims that the pre-orders for its latest Galaxy S8 has exceeded Galaxy S7’s demand. The South-Korean tech giant further revealed that more consumers are opting to choose the larger screen variant, i.e. Galaxy S8 Plus.

The pre-orders for both the Samsung smartphones have broken most of the records in South Korea, as over 550,000 units of the phones were booked in just two days.

"The majority of consumers have been selecting the Galaxy S8+," Samsung said in an email to CNBC, noting that the larger model is more popular than the smaller Galaxy S8. “Samsung added that it's already noticing "double digit growth" (at least 10 percent) over last year in the few weeks since pre-orders for the smartphone went on sale,” the report added.

The latest revelations suggest the following things:

Firstly, the observation that users have switched their attention from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco and accepted the new products by Samsung anyway. Furthermore, the demand for larger screen variants seem to be on a rise.
