The Adapter HD will provide a great music experience on the Essential Phone.

When Essential announced the Essential Phone, one of the biggest talking points was the magnetic accessory system that could connect to a variety of modules. The first accessory that Essential announced was the 360-degree camera, now Essential has announced its next nifty accessory, magnetic 3.5mm headphone jack called the Adapter HD.

Like the 360-degree camera, this 3.5mm headphone jack module will fix on to the back of the Essential Phone using its two pin connection feature. One can already add a 3.5mm jack to the Essential Phone via a regular USB-C adapter but Essential promises audiophile grade output with the latest module. As of now, pricing for this module is scant but one will be able to purchase it later on this year.

Essential state, “The Audio Adapter HD can fit almost all types of 3.5mm headphones and is crafted from machined titanium for exceptional durability. Plus, with Click technology, you can charge your phone and listen to music simultaneously.”

Elaborating on the headphone jack module Essential claim that it is one of the first to feature a high-resolution ESS Sabre DAC with hardware MQA rendering and an audiophile-grade amp that can drive demanding high-impedance headphones.

Along with the announcement of the Adapter HD, Essential also revealed that the Essential Phone would also be receiving a software update that gives it an MQA certification. Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) is a way of unpacking songs that gives a lossless audio experience in a smaller size so one can experience the sound of the original recording.
