The OnePlus 7T is a big phone, just like the OnePlus 7. It is slightly taller, thicker and heavier too at 190 grams.

OnePlus users are having a torrid time of late as those who are using handsets running on the Android 9 or Android 10 OS are experiencing high levels of battery drain. Reports suggest that this is mainly due to WhatsApp and the problem has started when users have updated WhatsApp to version 2.19.308.

As per a report by the Economic Times, this battery drain issue has been observed by users even though there has been a limited amount of WhatsApp usage. The report states, “OnePlus users are reporting on Reddit, OnePlus forums, and even through the Play Store (Google Play Store) that WhatsApp is drastically draining their batteries by 40 per cent or more, Android Central reported on Saturday.”

It is worth mentioning that this high battery drain issue is experienced by users whose devices are running on the most recent versions of Android, which is a large portion of OnePlus users.

The battery drain issue is not impacting every OnePlus user; however, the number being affected is reasonably high. Also, some Xiaomi users are also reporting this issue.

With the battery drain issue being seemingly high; it is breaking one of the most basic functions expected of a device. Without a stable battery performance, one has to resort to keeping it plugged in, which essentially defeats the entire purpose of a mobile phone.
