ASUS announces ZenFone Max Pro M2 starting at Rs 12,999

Alongside its mid-range handset, ASUS has also introduced the ZenFone Max M2 starting at Rs 9,999.

At an event in Delhi, ASUS has announced its new mid-range king, the ZenFone Max Pro M2. The handset is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant, Rs 14,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant and Rs 16,999 for the 6GB/64GB model. Alongside, the Max Pro M2, ASUS has also launched the ZenFone Max M2. This handset starts at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB/32GB model and Rs 11,999 for the 4GB/64GB version.

The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 is the first handset in this segment to feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 which is designed to survive 15 consecutive one-meter drops onto rough surfaces. This makes ZenFone Max Pro M2 the only Smartphone under Rs.20000 with the capability to endure multiple drops. The handset boasts a 2.5D curved glass on the front and a premium wave glass finish on the back. On the front, its display features the smallest full-function notch which includes an LED flash, Camera, Earpiece, Notification LED, Ambient and Proximity sensors.

The handset comes with a 6.26-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080) notched display with a 19:9 aspect ratio The high-quality display, features a wide 94% NTSC colour gamut, 450cd/m2 brightness and a high 1500:1 contrast ratio.

ZenFone Max Pro M2 is powered by a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform with AIE, utilising the Qualcomm AI Engine, for smooth, responsive and power-efficient performance. ASUS states that with up to 6GB RAM, this CPU is up to 11 per cent faster than the previous generation Snapdragon 636, and graphics performance powered by Adreno 512 GPU, is improved by 33 per cent for more realistic visuals and faster 3D rendering.

The dual-camera system uses a high-resolution, incredibly light-sensitive F/1.8 12MP Sony IMX486 main sensor, with 1.9x light sensitivity. It also incorporates PDAF and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS). It is supported by a 5MP depth sensor for capturing portrait shots. For selfies, the brand has added a 13MP shooter up front with an LED flash. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 still contains a long-lasting 5000mAH battery that is said to offer up to 35 days of 4G standby and 45 hours 3G talk time. Additionally, the handset features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with 5-finger recognition. It also has Face Unlock for maximum accessibility.

ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be available in three variants namely 3GB/32GB for Rs 12,999, 4GB/64GB for Rs 14,999, and the 6GB/64GB for Rs 16,999 from December 18, 2018 exclusively on Flipkart.
