Vernee announces Apollo 2 with 8GB RAM at MWC 2017
The device might be the first to incorporate 8GB of RAM, depending on when the device will hit the shelves.
Chinese smartphone maker Vernee has announced the launch of its Apollo 2 smartphone at MWC 2017. The company earlier unveiled its Apollo with 6GB RAM last year. The company will go a step further by increasing the RAM to 8GB.
The device might be the first to incorporate 8GB of RAM, depending on when the device will hit the shelves. Previous title holder was ASUS ZenFone AR which is due to be launched in Q2 this year.
The company took to Twitter to announce the launch of Apollo 2 and also claimed that the device will be the first to be powered by Helio X30 processor. It is also confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in two variants - 64GB of inbuilt storage + 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage + 8GB of RAM.
Talking of the processor, the Mediatek Helio X30 was launched in August in 2016. It is built on TSMC's 10nm FinFET architecture, and sports a quad-core PowerVR 7XT GPU. The Helio X30 brings support for up to 8 GB of 1866 MHz LPDDR4x RAM, support for eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 and faster image processing. It is capable of supporting a 40MP camera and video support for a 24MP camera.
