Samsung has released a new build of its Android 8.0 Oreo Beta firmware for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagship smartphones in the UK and US. The new update brings a handful of new features to the table.

The latest update includes a new option that lets users adjust the transparency of incoming notifications. It also includes Google’s October Android security patch, along with stability improvements for the DeX mode, which enables users to transform their Galaxy S8 devices into Linux PCs completely. The new update improves the stability of the Samsung Experience launcher as well as new clock styles for the lock screen and the Always On Display.

The update also makes the smart view feature a bit smarter — the screen of the phone will go dark when the device is mirroring to a big screen. Therefore, the Galaxy S8 is now expected to deplete its battery way slower than before. Moreover, the second Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo beta firmware fixes multiple issues reported by users since the first beta.
