OPPO Realme 1 launched in India

The phone comes with the 12nm AI CPU MediaTek Helio P60 together with AI Shot Technology and a 6GB RAM+128GB storage version.

Realme 1, the first smartphone from Oppo’s sub-brand Realme, has been launched in India. The phone comes with the 12nm AI CPU MediaTek Helio P60 together with AI Shot Technology and a huge 6GB RAM+128GB storage version. The new mid-range smartphone sports a FullView display and runs the latest version of Android Oreo.

The Realme 1 boats of a 6-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels along with an 18:9 aspect ratio. At the heart, the smartphone runs MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The device will be initially available with 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB onboard storage. The company plans to add a 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant at a later stage. OPPO’s Realme 1 runs ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

In terms of Optics, the Realme 1 features a 13MP rear camera along with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. Up front, the device sports an 8MP selfie shooter which takes advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance selfies. The company claims that its camera UI can detect 296 facial points. The handset does not have a fingerprint sensor but supports face unlock.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and 4G LTE among others. The Realme is fuelled by a 3410mAh battery and will be available in two colour variants — Diamond Black and Solar Red during the first sale at 12 pm on May 25.

As for the pricing, the Realme 1 carries a price tag of Rs 8,990 for the base 3GB RAM/32GB storage, whereas the 6GB RAM/128GB storage will cost Rs 13,990. There is also a 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant which will be available in June with a price tag of Rs 10,990.

The Realme 1 has been launched exclusively on Amazon India.  Coming to the launch offers, the Realme 1 comes bundled with benefits worth Rs 4,850 from Reliance Jio, while Amazon India is offering no-cost EMI option. Those with SBI cardholders, they will get 5 per cent cashback.
