Motorola will push Android Oreo for new devices only
Motorola's list of devices getting the Oreo update focuses on newest mid-range devices and premium models from last year.
Motorola has been one of the most stylish smartphone brands in the current times, with flashy advertising campaigns and smartphones utilising the full power of stock Android. However, it seems that the company has veered off from its initial motto of providing the best smartphone user experience with stock Android and providing timely updates for it. We say this because the company has released the list of devices that will taste Android Oreo.
If you own a Motorola smartphone, then you should pray that your Moto should be in the following list:
moto z
moto z Droid
moto z Force Droid
moto z Play
moto z Play Droid
moto z2 Play
moto z2 Force Edition
moto x4
moto g5
moto g5 Plus
moto g5S
moto g5S Plus
Motorola mentions this as the full list of its devices that will get the Android Oreo update. If we go according to this list, then all the entry-level moto devices such as the moto C series and the moto e4 series are not getting Android Oreo and will be stuck with Android Nougat. Also, last year’s popular mid-range offerings such as the moto g4, g4 Plus, moto g4 Play and the budget moto e3 are also stuck with Android Nougat, considering they are still within Android’s two-OS update policy per device.
The company also hasn’t mentioned the exact timeframe of rolling out the update for the mentioned these devices. You can expect the premium models to taste Oreo before the end of this year while the mid-range ones could be getting it sometime early next year.
