Motorola’s new Razr 2019, a nod to the classic retro Moto Razr V3 coupled with modern technology and specs, took the tech world by storm on its launch yesterday. It took the Motorola team four years to finally produce the new Moto Razr, said Glenn Schultz, Innovation and Product Development VP at Motorola. This included inputs of different perspectives from parent company Lenovo on the design of both the new folding screen and the hinge of the phone.

The Research and Development team at Motorola had to go through 26 prototype designs before they settled on the final clamshell design that the world loves right now. Emphasis on key elements like the aesthetic appeal and the durability of the phone were also maintained during the designing of the smartphone, which comes with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass and brushed stainless steel.

Motorola also created special machines to test the opening and closing of the new foldable screen multiple times to ensure a smooth and consistent experience, before sending out review units.
