Xiaomi announces permanent price drops for these phones

The revised prices are available from today on all retail platforms

The company has increased the Redmi Note 5 Pro 4GB + 64GB variant by Rs 1,000, which results in the new price of Rs 14,999 starting from May 1, 2018.

To celebrate their leadership in the market, Xiaomi has announced a permanent price drop on some of their hottest selling smartphones. With effect from 12 pm on 16 November, the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Mi A2, and Redmi Y2 have got new prices with a Rs 1,000 drop across the different configurations.

The 4GB + 64GB Redmi Note 5 Pro is now priced at Rs 13,999 while the handset’s 6GB + 64GB version now costs Rs 15,999. The highly successful Mi A2 also gets a Rs 1,000 price cut with the 4GB + 64GB variant now costing Rs 15,999 while the revised price of the 6GB + 128GB Mi A2 is Rs 18,999. The Redmi Y2 4GB + 64GB handset is now priced at Rs 11,999.

Xiaomi states that they have a philosophy of honest pricing where they never make more than 5 per cent profit margin on any hardware product and if they do make more profits, it gets given back to their Mi Fans.

They have also announced that they have witnessed a reduction in component costs of some of their best-selling smartphones. Moreover, Xiaomi was announced as the number one smartphone vendor in India for the 5th consecutive quarter, as per IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, 14 November 2018.

In the past few months upon their launch, the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2, and Redmi Y2 have seen immense love and admiration from Mi fans and customers in India. The brand goes on to claim that these devices have redefined the consumer smartphone experience by delivering incredible specifications of the highest quality at the best possible pricing.

The note by Xiaomi ends by stating that they believe by offering these products at even more attractive prices will make them even more accessible to Mi fans.
