Honor View 10 gets new face unlock and more AI features with n OTA update
The rollout has already begun on January 17 and is expected to reach all units by January 24.
Honor has announced the rollout of a new software update for the Honor View 10 smartphone that also brings Face Unlock technology on the handset. Prior to this, the company had incorporated Face Unlock feature only for monitoring notifications. Also, it has expanded support for several other functionalities. The company says that the rollout has already begun on January 17 and is expected to reach all units by January 24.

The newly expanded feature — Face unlock, can now detect when you are looking at the display and when your eyes are closed and accordingly adjust the display. To enable face recognition, you need to enrol your face by accusing Face recognition feature in phone settings. You can now enrol your face by simply looking at the camera. By detecting your face, Honor View 10 detects the positioning between you and the phone and adjusts the direction accordingly.
The update also includes features such as Super-Resolution Imaging to enhance resolution, AI motion detection in the front and rear camera, AI Zoom, and Smart Tips. Smart Tips include duties such as eye knuckle gestures, comfort settings, QR code scanning and wide aperture photos.
To recall, the Honor View 10 runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0. It sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ IPS LCD FullView display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels along with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset clubbed with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The View 10 comes with a priced tag of Rs 29,999 in India. The handset is available on Amazon India and is competing with the likes of OnePlus 5T (review), Mi Mix 2 (review), Samsung A8+ (first impression) in the market.
