OnePlus 5 Slate Gray 8GB, 128GB variant goes on sale in India

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has launched another variant of OnePlus 5 phone in India – this time a Slate Gray model offering an 8GB and 128GB storage option. The variant is an Amazon exclusive and will be available at a price of Rs 37,999.
To date, four OnePlus 5 variants, including a ‘Limited Edition’ Soft Gold model are available in the country for purchase.
The company had initially launched Slate Gray 6GB RAM/64GB and Midnight Black 8GB/128GB models in India at a price of Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999, respectively. It later released a new colour variant – the Soft Gold ‘Limited Edition’ with 6GB and 64GB storage option in the country.
To recall, OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,920x1080. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon’s 835 processor, coupled with 8GB RAM in the 128GB storage variant and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage option.
The OnePlus 5 features a dual rear camera, akin to an iPhone 7 Plus and various other smartphones. The wide-angle lens is a 16MP Sony IMX 398 with an aperture of f/1.7 and has Electrical Image Stabilisation (EIS). The secondary telephoto lens is a 20MP Sony IMX 350 sensor with an aperture of f/2.6.This hardware, along with software trickery, makes for a compelling camera unit on paper.
A more detailed 16MP camera front-camera with a 1-micron pixel Sony IMX371 sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and an active screen flash with three modes to choose from—On, Off and Auto. The phone retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and operates on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with OxygenOS atop.
