FaceID will become the primary biometric verification method on all iPhones next year.

Apple CEO Tim Cook called iPhone X the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.

With the iPhone X, Apple has commercialised a biometric verification method from the future — the FaceID. It is supposed to be the next iteration of the TouchID, aiding seamless unlocking of smartphones. However, it won’t be long before the FaceID becomes a common name for all Apple smartphones next year.

Popular analyst Ming Chi Kuo from KGI Securities has predicted that FaceID will be a part of all iPhones from 2018. The FaceID is expected to gain more popularity once the iPhone X is made available to the masses in November. Even if Apple sees an average response with regards to the FaceID, the Cupertino giant will still implement it on all iPhones, according to KGI securities.

One thing that’s not clear is whether “all iPhones’ means existing models on sale in 2018 or only new models rolled out in 2018. Whatever may be te case, the world of smartphones will surely become interesting.
