Many of us are still waiting for Android Nougat to come to our devices, but Google has already made available its Android O Developer Preview ahead of its annual I/O Developer’s Conference. Users will have to wait for the final version till late summer, however it possible to get the beta version of the update on your device today.
To get the Android O on your phone, you will have to manually flash the software of your device. But do note that the process will erase all the data from your smartphone. You can download the file from Google Developer's site.
Google doesn't intend this first build of Android O to be available to the general public, and for that reason it has not issued the beta through the usual Android Beta over-the-air channel.
The Android O Developer Preview can run on only certain Google devices. Those devices are:
- Google Pixel
- Google Pixel XL
- Google Pixel C
- Google Nexus 6P
- Google Nexus 5X
- Nexus Player
To uninstall Android O following your trials you will need to download and flash to your device a factory image of Android Nougat.
