Samsung Galaxy S9 screen has touch-screen issues: Reports
Several reports have been emerging especially on the larger Galaxy S9+ variant that seems to have touch responsive issues.
As we all know, the primary interaction of any smartphone user is through the touch-input screen, which is supposed to be seamless, especially in top-tier flagship phones. However, this might not be seamless for Samsung’s latest Galaxy S9 users. Several reports have been surfacing amongst the Galaxy S9/S9+ users about the ‘dead spots’ on their recently purchased phones.
Users on Reddit and several other Samsung forums have been raising issues about defective screens on their S9/ S9+ units. Reports seem to be pouring in from everywhere. Samsung’s own users’ forum has also been receiving reports regarding this issue.
The reports suggest that users are facing ‘touch input not responding’ especially on the larger S9+. The problem showcases a block of the touch-screen’s digitiser unable to work/respond. Not all users are reporting at a particular display area, but there are several spots where touch responsiveness doesn’t seem to work (for e.g. at the centre display area of the screen, or on the top right corner). In case of the top touch-screen input not responding, users are not having access to their notifications. For some users, factory resetting is solving the issue and others are expecting a trade-off with the company for a new device in-exchange to their faulty device.
Samsung has issued a statement on this issue, which states “At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touch-screen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating.”
If you are planning to buy the S9 or S9+ flagships, we suggest you hold on till this issue settles as there could be a chance that first batch of S9 units might have to go through a recall. Stay tuned for all the news and updates related to the issue.
