ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 with SD636, pure Android 8.1 Oreo launched
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 runs on a stock Android interface and features a 5000mAh battery.
After throwing teasers and hints from the last few days, ASUS has finally unveiled its much-hyped budget midrange offering for the Indian market — the Zenfone Max Pro M1. The smartphone starts at Rs 10,999 for the base 3GB+32GB variant and goes up to Rs 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant. ASUS will also launch the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in a more capable 6GB+64GB variant with 16MP+5MP dual rear cameras and a 16MP selfie shooter for Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be sold via Flipkart exclusively.
The Zenfone Max Pro M1 is built around Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 636 chipset, which is manufactured using the 14nm process. ASUS has launched it in the Indian market with a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo, which they promise to upgrade to Android P and Android Q. Despite a stock Android interface, there are several convenient features such as ASUS ZenMotion gesture shortcuts and Face Unlock.
ASUS has given the Zenfone Max Pro M1 a huge 6-inch 18:9 IPS LCD display that renders photos at full HD+ resolution. In terms of optics, there’s a 13MP+5MP rear camera setup that can take bokeh portraits in the standard model. The high-end variant will launch with a 16MP+5MP setup for the rear. There’s an 8MP front camera that can also shoot selfies with bokeh effects.
One of the major highlights of the Zenfone Max Pro M1 is its enormous 5000mAh battery, which ASUS claims can provide up to two days of stamina. It’s also equipped with 10W fast charging that ASUS claims can top up the battery in under three hours. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 also offers a dedicated microSD card slot alongside dual SIM port.
