Xiaomi teases Desh ka Smartphone'; entry level device expected

Unlike Reliance, Xiaomi is expected to launch a smartphone instead of a feature phone.

Xiaomi India Managing director, Manu Kumar Jain teased the launch of a new smartphone. The device has been prompted by the company as ‘Desh Ka Smartphone,’ hinting towards an entry level phone.

Earlier, Reliance also promoted their Jio Phone as ‘India ka Smartphone,’ before the launch in July. But unlike Reliance, Xiaomi is expected to launch a smartphone instead of a feature phone.

The tweet reads: “Desh ke liye a rahan hain #DeshKaSmartphone A new phone for #Bharat is coming soon! RT and help spread the word”

Previously, the company launched its Redmi Y1 for a price of Rs 8,999. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display and is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor backed by 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 packs a 13MP primary camera on the rear and a 16MP front shooter for selfies.
