Honor 9 Lite with 18:9 display, four cameras launched

Huawei sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 9 Lite in China. The main highlight of the smartphone is its 5.65-inch 18:9 IPS display, dual cameras on both the front and rear and Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. The smartphone will go on sale in China on December 26.

The Honor 9 Lite comes with a price tag of CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 11,700) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. While the 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,499 (approximately Rs 15,600) and the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant will be available at CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs 17,500).

The Honor 9 Lite sports a 5.65-inch full-HD+IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. It is powered by a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, clubbed with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The dual-SIM smartphone runs EMUI 8.0, based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

On the photography front, the Honor 9 Lite features dual camera setups on both the front and back. The phone sports a 13MP + 2MP camera combos on the front and on the back. The handset offers 32GB/64GB storage both of which are expandable up to 256GB.

On the connectivity front, the Honor 9 Lite include Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB with OTG support and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone draws its power from 3000mAh battery. The company says that the smartphone will deliver a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G and a standby time of up to 24 days and juice up fully in about 2 hours 20 minutes.
